Hi,

Based on the semen analysis report you have shared, the following things can be inferred.

1. Volume of 3ml is normal.
2. Consistency thick is also normal.
3. pH of 7.6 is alkaline and is normal.
4. Pus cells of 3 - 4/hpf is within normal limits and is not indicating the presence of infection.
5. The sperm count of 130 million/ml is good.
6. Motility with 40% slowly progressive is less than normally expected. It may be due to the head and tail defects of 65% and 70% respectively.

The pathologist has reported the findings as Normozoospermia, which means normal.

However, sperm quality and motility can be improved by intake of medications containing L-carnitine, Alpha lipoic acid, Lecithin, CoQ10, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc regularly for 3 months as it would provide appropriate nutrients for sperm functioning.

Kindly repeat semen analysis after 3 months to look for the improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
